SikaTop®-209 Tank – Two-component waterproofing mortar for water tanks

SikaTop-209 Reservoir is a two-component waterproofing mortar based on polymer-modified cement, specially formulated for the interior waterproofing of drinking water tanks, tanks, tarpaulins, cisterns and concrete structures. Its formulation ensures excellent adhesion and lasting waterproofing even in permanent immersion. Main applications Interior sealing of drinking water tanks Covers and storage basins Concrete or masonry tanks Waterproofing of surfaces in permanent contact with water Protection of concrete against the penetration of water and aggressive agents Properties / Advantages - Drinking water compatible (certificates according to current standards) - Very good adhesion to concrete and mortar - Easy application by brush, float or spray - Durable resistance in permanent immersion - Reduction of porosity and excellent sealing - Ready-to-use two-component product (resin + powder) - Opening time suitable for hot climates - Good performance and regular finish Technical characteristics (general) Base: cement, mineral fillers, adjuvants, polymers Appearance: • Component A (resin): milky white liquid • Component B (powder): gray Consumption: approx. 2.0–2.5 kg/m² for 2 layers (depending on support) Recommended thickness: 2–3 mm in 2 coats Mixture density: ~1.8 g/cm³ Application: brush, trowel, projection Setting time: variable depending on temperature (1 to 3 hours) Putting in water: after complete hardening (approximately 7 days) Preparation of the support Clean, healthy, rough and thoroughly moistened surface Eliminate milt, dust, grease, poorly adhering particles Cracks must be opened, cleaned and repaired before application Method of application Mix the two components completely until you obtain a homogeneous paste. Apply the first coat with a brush or trowel. Let it draw then apply the second coat by crossing the passes. Protect the surface against premature drying, wind, direct sun. Apply water only after complete hardening. Packaging Pre-dosed kit (resin + powder) Colors: Gray or White Storage Keep dry, away from humidity and at moderate temperature. Shelf life: 12 months in original, unopened packaging.
